Weird Tract Number 1: "The Story of Dick, Jane, and Sally" by Victory Christian Center

Troy Davis writes:
story of dick jane and sally tract

When I found "The Story of Dick, Jane, and Sally" when I was living in Los Angeles a few years ago, I first thought it might be a parody tract done by wiseguys mocking fundamentalists. After some research. I found it's the real deal done by the earnest people at Victory Christian Center ministries in Carthage, Missouri. Bless their hearts with the piss-poor artwork, shopworn stories, and stilted dialogue.  I don't know if the author intentionally used the names of the childrens' books characters Dick and Jane, and Sally.

Notorious campus preacher Brother Jed Smock shills it to his student audiences. Another preacher on the college circuit, Bro Miles of Open Air Outreach, tells a version of the story in his spiel to audiences of mocking fratboys types.

SYNOPSIS: Dick is a foulmouthed libertine who cares only about himself. In short, Dick is a real dick. He dies in his sleep (and in his sins) and is roasting for eternity with the unwed women he fornicated with.

Jane is a nominal Christian but she puts out for guys she loves and dresses is skimpy outfits. She also kicks the bucket and is thrown into The Lake of Fire by Jeebus.

Sally is a true Christian. Unlike the other two, when she dies, she will experiences eternal paradise.
