Greetings. The Museum of Weird and Demented Religious Tracts is housed in the Les Zazous Postmodern Art Gallery in Bellaire, Ohio. The goal of this blog is to showcase my ginormous collection of weird and demented religious tracts.
The museum's collection is an an outgrowth of my collections of paper ephemera and my collection of Jack T. Chick-related material; the museum's Chick tract collection is the cornerstone of the collection of weird religious tracts. This pic shows a very small sample of the Chick collection:
1. Letter from defunct Light of the World Foundation promoting Chick's film of the same name.
2. Invitation and ticket to see the 2003 premiere of The Light of the World. I met Chick at the premiere.
3. Chick tract "You Are About To See The Most Powerful Soul Winning Film Yet!" rare promo tract to promote The Light of the World. Read it here.
4. The Todd Phenomenon, paperback book critical of Chick protege and self-proclaimed former satanist John Todd. Ironically, the forward is by another self-proclaimed satanist Mike Warnke who, like Todd, was exposed as a grifter.
5. Rare 1970 Chick tract "Operation Somebody Cares."
6. The Escape, part of Chick Publications' ill-fated Overcomers series of comic books.
7. Oversized copy of "The Beast" printed by Rusthoi Publications.
8. Yearbooks from all four years of Jack Chick's attendance at Alhambra (CA) high school. Chick's senior yearbook contains Chick's first published cartoon.
9. The Great Holocaust: Alberto Part 7 was published by Chick collaborator's Alberto Rivera's AIC Ministries.
10. "Contending for the Faith" newsletter published by Alberto's AIC
11. Signed original art of a demented Jack Chick cartoon showing Muslims approving of the hanging of Santa Claus. It's here on page 16.
12. 1960's edition of The Last Call.
Contributions of weird tracts to the museum can be made by mail: send your weird tracts to Les Zazous Postmodern art Gallery 3475 Guernsey Street, Bellaire, Ohio 43906.
